This race has a 5k, 10k, and a half-mile Wingding for kids. More than 6,500 runners participated last year so register ASAP if interested. You can register for one of four start times and take note that the early times sold out last year. The race is on a flat course along the scenic Long Beach bike path.

There is something for everyone in the family in this Turkey Trot. There is a 5k Run/Walk, a 10k run, and a 1k Kiddie Fun Run. If you're very ambitious you can compete to win a $250 cash prize that will be awarded to the male and female winners of the 5k and 10k. All of the kids 7 and under in the Fun Run get a medal. The race starts at 8 a.m. and the Fun Run at 9:15.

The Turkey Trot welcomes more than 10,000 runners and walkers and awards cash prizes for winners in the 10k. The course travels through the beaches, cliffs, and coves of Dana Point and Doheny State Park. Kids 5 to 12 can sign up for the Mission Hospital Kids Gobble Wobble 1k.

Causelife works to provide clean water to the more than 1 billion people who live without it around the world. If 1,500 runners or walkers sign up for the Turkey Trot more than 3,000 people will get clean water. Last year's race raised $25,000 to build wells. Runners can sign up for the 5k/10k run only, the 5k/10k walk/run or the 1k race for kids. The race travels along Huntington Beach.

The Gobble Wobble is on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and instead of burning calories to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner you'll be competing to win a cheesecake from Paul's Cheesecakes. Cakes will go to the top male and female winners of the 5k, the first, second, and third best costume and the best turkey call. Kids can compete in the Widdle Waddle 1k Fun Run.

This isn't an ordinary Turkey Trot. The San Dimas run will take you over the mountains and through the woods where you'll see beautiful mountain and lake views. The 5k and kids run course is paved and the 10k course is through trails. Not only will you burn calories, but you'll be helping people in need. Participants are asked to bring one can or package of dry food to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
