Kobe Bryant Scratched From Preseason Game In Ontario With Shoulder Sprain

ONTARIO, Calif. (CBSLA.com) - Fans with tickets to the Lakers preseason game at Citizen Bank Arena in Ontario just got bad news.

Dwight Howard as expected will miss his second straight preseason game, but moments before the game Mike Brown scratched Kobe Bryant with a right shoulder strain.

There is no word when and where he injured his shoulder. He will be day-to-day.

"He talked to Gary about it and he's got treatment on it," said Brown before the game. "We just decided to keep him out tonight."

Brown will start Jodie Meeks in place of Bryant.

Kobe is coming off a foot injury that kept away from two practices last week.

"Long practices but getting a ton of work done," said Kobe on Facebook Tuesday. "I had a lil tendon issue in my foot that kept me sidelined for 2 days but I'm full speed ahead once again."
