Author Maggie Lord Shares Tips For Planning A Rustic Wedding

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Just in time for the fall season, Maggie Lord, author of "Rustic Wedding Chic" and creator of RusticWeddingChic.com, visited KCAL9 Wednesday to show viewers how to incorporate fall wedding trends into rustic weddings.

Lord is a rustic wedding expert and author with the #1 rustic wedding site online. With her own rustic wedding experience, she advises thousands of brides on décor, fashion, and etiquette with a focus on rustic, farm and country weddings of all types, sizes and budgets. Below are some of her tips she shared with us:

Fall Wedding Décor Ideas. With fall being the most popular season for brides to tie the knot, Lord finds new ways to utilize local farmers markets for centerpieces. She shared a centerpiece idea with us using glass bowls filled with white pumpkins and apples that served as place card holders.

Fall Wedding Desserts. One of the hottest rustic trends right now is serving pie as desserts at your wedding. Nothing will welcome the fall season with a "pie bar" at your wedding. You can also send your guests home with a mini pie favor from our friends at I Heart Pie in Toluca Lake.

Fall Wedding Invitations. When choosing the right invitation for your fall wedding think details. Choose rich color pallets with small delicate flowers and ferns. A great LA based company with many rustic invitations to choose from is Love vs. Design.

Fall Wedding Locations. The first step for most couples is to choose the right wedding venue. For a great rustic and country feel, the Huron Substation in LA is a great venue that offers an indoor location as well as a courtyard space.
