LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles man has been sentenced to life in prison for attacking four teenage girls and an 18-year-old woman in the San Fernando Valley.

City News Service says Jose Perez was sentenced Wednesday to 17 years plus two life terms after being convicted in April of nine felony counts, including attempted kidnapping, attempted rape and assault.

Police say the 25-year-old Perez attacked a 16-year-old girl and dragged her into some bushes. The girl suffered three fractures to her eye socket. Other attacks by Perez included two 14-year-old girls and a 15-year-old girl.

All the attacks occurred between 2009 and 2010.
