Girl Killed While Celebrating Sweet 16th Birthday At Park In Fontana

FONTANA  (AP) — A girl has been shot and killed while celebrating her 16th birthday with friends at a Southern California park.

The teen's relatives told The San Bernardino County Sun on Sunday that Ashley Caldera and her friends were on their way to another friend's house Saturday night. They stopped at Northgate Park in Fontana to wait for another friend to join them when shots were fired.

Police said the shooters were not acquainted with the group.

The motive of the attack was under investigation.
