Trainer Mike Torcia Discusses Upcoming Operation Fitness Expo

CULVER CITY (CBS) — Trainer Mike Torcia visited KCAL9 News Saturday to discuss the Operation Fitness Expo, an event created to educate and motivate people to lead healthier lives.

Operation Fitness launched in 2001 in response to the nationwide obesity epidemic and has partnered with First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign and The President's Council for Physical Fitness.

The exposition on May 12 offers every member of the family free health screenings, fitness demonstrations, nutrition lectures and healthy shopping tips. You can also meet with motivational speakers and life coaches for help starting towards your goals. Got a competitive streak? Participants can enter in athletic competitions and strength challenges -- or sit back and enjoy dance performances and product giveaways.

The Operation Fitness Expo is a free event held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Westfield Culver City Mall, located at 6000 Sepulveda Boulevard.

For more information visit the Operation Fitness website or find them on Facebook.
