Beverly Hills Cops Bust Suspect They Call Serial Burglar -- But They Can't Charge Him

BEVERLY HILLS (CBS) — Beverly Hills cops have busted a suspect they call a serial burglar.

They even busted the man with $100,000 on him  and jewelry in his car.

But, according to authorities, they are unable to file charges until they can find victims to match to the stolen goods.

The unidentified suspect was reportedly stopped last week during a routine traffic stop.

That's when police found the cache of jewels and cash.

Rob Schmitt, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, says the haul might be worth as much as $250,0oo.

Schmitt spoke to Javan Nabili, one possible victim. Nabili and his wife live in Sherman Oaks.

The Nabili home was burglarized a few months ago and he says more than $50,000 in jewelry was taken.

The District Attorney told the lead detective he needs victims to file a case.

Detectives are hoping crime victims will come forward and try to identify their property.
