'Pirates Of The Caribbean' Ship Offers Tour In Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH (CBS) — "The Black Pearl," made famous by Capt. Jack Sparrow, and another historic wooden merchant ship will be docked in Newport Harbor for the next two weeks.

The "Pearl," which stars in Disney's 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' as the HMS Interceptor, and the Hawaiian Chieftain will be open to the public for tours at the Newport Sea Base, 1931 W. Coast Highway.

Tours are available from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday; 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Three-dollar donations are welcome.

The two ships will compete in a "Battle Sail" at 2 p.m. Saturday where the ships will engage in a naval battle, complete with cannon fire and actors in period costume.

Tickets are $60 for adults, $50 for students, seniors and active military and $40 for children 12 and younger.
