LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Low-interest federal disaster loans are now available to both residents and business owners affected by winds that battered the Southland Nov. 20 through Dec. 4.

The Small Business Administration made the announcement in response to a Dec. 13 request from Gov. Jerry Brown.

Assistance is available in Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.

“The U. S. Small Business Administration is strongly committed to providing Californians with the most effective and customer-focused response possible, and we will be there to provide access to federal disaster loans to help finance recovery for residents and businesses affected by the disaster,” SBA administrator Karen Mills said. “Getting our businesses and communities up and running after a disaster is our highest priority at SBA.”

Three ways to apply:

1. Apply in person at the location below where SBA representatives will issue loan applications, answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and help each resident or business owner complete their disaster loan application.
