Bruins Maul Pepperdine For 2nd Win Of Season

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lazeric Jones scored 14 points to help UCLA defeat Pepperdine 62-39 on Monday night for the Bruins' first win of the year at their temporary home after opening with two embarrassing losses.

David Wear and freshman Norman Powell added 10 points each for the Bruins (2-4), who are playing at the Los Angeles SportsArena this season while Pauley Pavilion is renovated.

UCLA was coming off a trip to the Maui Invitational that included 16-point losses to ranked Kansas and Michigan and a 32-point win over Chaminade. It opened the season with losses to Loyola Marymount and Middle Tennessee State at the SportsArena.

Corbin Moore and Joshua Lowery scored nine points each for the Waves (3-3), who beat Arizona State of the Pac-12 but have since dropped three in a row.
