Police Find U-Haul Truck Stolen In Family's Move From NorCal To Long Beach
LONG BEACH (CBS) — A moving truck that was stolen from a family relocating from Northern California to Long Beach has been recovered, police said Monday.
The U-Haul truck and trailer were reported stolen about 2 a.m. Sunday from the 5200 block of Daggett Street on the east side of the city, where the Allen and Tami Bischofberger and their two children were staying with relatives, said Long Beach police Sgt. Greg Schirmer.
Police found the truck but the camper trailer that was being pulled by the vehicle remains missing.
It remains unclear how much property remained inside the truck when it was found about 1:30
this morning in the North Long Beach area, Schirmer said.
Upon hearing of the Bischofberger's misfortune, residents in Long Beach have donated clothing, cooking utensils and other supplies to the family, the Associated Press reported.
No arrests have been made.
