West Covina City Employees In Hot Water Over Viral Video

WEST COVINA (CBS) — A video spoofing police harassment has gone viral online, and now two West Covina city employees are being investigated.

The video, which was produced for Will Ferrell's "Funny or Die" website, has gotten more than one million hits, but city leaders in West Covina say it's no laughing matter.

The video depicts police officers pulling over a driver without cause, pointing guns in his face, and humiliating him for fun.

The actors are wearing West Covina police uniforms and driving West Covina police cars, which two civilian employees reportedly took without permission.

The Whittier Daily News reports the actors may have fired live rounds on camera, and the video was likely shot without a permit.

West Covina's city manager says no real police officers were involved.

One city council member wants to sue the production company and press criminal charges against the actors for impersonating police officers.

The city council plans to take action at next week's meeting.
