LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070) — If you’ve got expired or unused drugs in your medicine chest, now’s the time to clean them out!
KNX 1070’s Jan Stevens reports that the nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and is not just prescription medication.
“We’ll take over-the-counter medications as well. We’re primarily just trying to get anything that might be potentially dangerous whether for abuse or overdose. We’re trying to get it out of people’s homes,” said Sarah Pullen with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
In the first two Take-Back days, more than 300 tons of drugs were turned in and according to Pullen, were incinerated.
