Man Arrested For Starting Fire At L.A. Live

LOS ANGELES (CBS)— Police arrested a man after he took some pills, threatened suicide, started a small fire, then locked himself inside the J.W. Marriott at the 'L.A. Live' center Saturday.

Police arrested the man at the hotel in the 900 block of West Olympic Boulevard around 11 a.m., Gregory Baek of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relation Section said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 10:23 a.m. in response to a small fire on the third floor that was quickly put out, said Erik Scott, spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 10:30 a.m. on a "disturbing the peace" call, said a police officer from the Los Angeles Police Department's Central station.
