Missing Grandmother, Her Developmentally Disabled Grandson Found Safe
CHATSWORTH (CBS) — A missing 80-year-old woman and her developmentally disabled 21-year-old grandson have been found safe.
Officials say Barbara Berlin, who recently started to show signs of dementia, picked up her grandson, Justin Berlin, on Saturday to take him to Balboa Park for Special Olympics baseball practice.
"It appears she lost her way and was driving around the last day and a half," an LAPD spokesperson said.
Officers spotted the two in the grandmother's Nissan Sentra at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Riverside Drive just after 12 a.m. Monday, according to the LAPD.
The two never made it to Saturday's practice.
