LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Redmond O’Neal, the son of actor Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop after an officer allegedly found heroin in his car.

O’Neal, 26, was arrested about 8:45 a.m., when a motorcycle officer stopped his vehicle near Olympic and Lincoln boulevards in Santa Monica, according to Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis.

O’Neal was being held without bail on a felony probation hold and was expected to appear at the Airport Branch Courthouse on Thursday, Lewis said.

Last August, O’Neal graduated from a drug court program for a pair of drug-possession cases — one involving possession of heroin and methamphetamine and the other involving possession of methamphetamine.

He is still on probation for his no-contest plea to a felony drug charge stemming from his arrest in a county jail parking lot in Castaic.

man, can a heroin user really get up at 8:45 in the morning? Well anyway, some people can’t be helped. They are doomed. Too much money, no job to keep them grounded and too much free time. What a mess. This kid looks a little “rough around the edges” for only being 26. Ryan’s done a good job w/ his kids…

Farrah tried so hard to get him off drugs. So glad she’s not here to see him still struggling.

Unless you’ve had a struggle with drugs and alcohol…..you can’t pass judgement. We don’t know what his demons or struggles are.

My prayers to him and hopefully one day he can overcome his addiction.
