San Pedro High School On Lockdown After Shooting
SAN PEDRO (CBS) — San Pedro High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday after a bullet fired off campus ricocheted off a wall and hit a 15-year-old girl.
A female student was injured when a bullet fragment bounced off the pavement and hit her leg at around 2:45 p.m., according to Los Angeles police.
She was transported to a local hospital with a minor wound.
Authorities reportedly apprehended the suspected gunman near the school, located at 1001 West 15th Street, shortly after the shooting.
The approximately 3,400 students held during the campus-wide lockdown were allowed to leave at about 4 p.m.
