NORTHRIDGE (CBS) — A toddler was hospitalized Thursday after he nearly drowned in a backyard swimming pool.

Firefighters responded to a call from the 8700 block of Corbin Avenue just before 8:30 a.m.

Paramedics helped restore the boy’s breathing before he was airlifted to a hospital, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Rich Matheney said.

The circumstances of the near-drowning were under investigation.

The boy’s mother was at the residence, and the child was out of the water when firefighters arrived, Matheney said.

sorry to hear that the baby fell into the pool. when you are too busy to watch your child and there is a pool ijn make sure an adult is there or you should have built a gate around the pool and he could have still played without being supervised!! there will never be a next time if your son would have drowned!
