Ryan Suspended 2 Games For Stomping Blum's Foot

TORONTO (AP) -- Anaheim forward Bobby Ryan was suspended for two games Saturday for stomping on the foot of defenseman Jonathon Blum in Game 2 of the Ducks' first-round playoff series against Nashville.

The incident occurred at 16:35 of the third period Friday night. No penalty was assessed on the play.

NHL disciplinarian Colin Campbell called Ryan's actions "reckless and dangerous." Blum was not injured on the play, but Campbell said it is "unacceptable" for a player to use his skate in such a manner.

Ryan scored twice in the 5-3 victory to help Anaheim even the series against the Predators at a game apiece. Ryan is eligible to come back in Game 5 Friday at Anaheim.
