Man Shot Inside Parking Structure Of Studio City Hotel

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — An 18-year-old man who was shot inside a parking structure outside a Studio City hotel is expected to recover.

The shooting occurred about 3:15 a.m. Sunday in the 10300 block of Ventura Boulevard, Los Angeles police Sgt. Ernie Fischer of the North Hollywood Station said.

"The victim ran from the street into the hotel parking garage. There, the alleged shooters followed him inside and opened fire on him, then escaped in a black SUV," The BLVD Hotel and Spa Managing Director Sagar Kumar said in a statement released. "The incident didn't take place in our bar-- which was closed at the time--or have anything to do with patrons or guests at the hotel. We regret the incident."

Fisher said the victim told officers he had heard a shot and started running, but then realized he'd been shot in a leg.

Paramedics transported the man to a hospital where he was expected to be OK.
