PALMDALE (AP) — Authorities say Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies shot and killed an armed man in Palmdale after he ignored orders to drop his weapon.

The Los Angeles Times reports deputies responded to a “man with a gun” call Friday night.

When he didn’t comply with orders to put the gun down, he was shot multiple times.

The suspect was pronounced dead at a hospital. No deputies were injured.

Officials said the man’s weapon was recovered. His name has not yet been released.

The incident is under investigation.
