LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lindsay Lohan rejected a judge’s offer to end a felony grand theft case early on Wednesday, signaling the actress intends to fight a case filed over a necklace she has been accused of stealing from a upscale jewelry store.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz never publicly detailed the terms of his offer to Lohan, but said if she pleaded no contest or guilty in the case, he would sentence her to jail. Prosecutors are also seeking jail time for the “Mean Girls” star, who was on probation for a 2007 drunken driving case when a store in Venice told police that Lohan had taken a necklace without permission in January.

Lohan’s attorney Shawn Holley notified the prosecutor handling the case that Lohan would not be taking Schwartz’s plea offer, district attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison said. Wednesday was the deadline for Lohan to notify Schwartz of her intentions and she will now be required to appear in court on April 22 for a preliminary hearing.

The hearing will be conducted by a new judge — the fourth one Lohan has faced in the past year — who will determine whether there is enough evidence for Lohan to stand trial on the felony grand theft charge.

If the judge rules Lohan should stand trial, the actress could immediately be sentenced for a probation violation and sent to jail for the fourth time.

The actress, 24, has pleaded not guilty to the charge and denied wrongdoing.

Why did ex-officer Jeffrey Stenroos lied about the shooting?

  2. Mary says:

I don’t favor LiLo; however, if I were on the jury, I would not find her guilty, given all the facts, and by the video I saw. Best wishes Lindsey… I hope everything works out in your favor.

    1. Cuppie says:

@Mary, you’re an idiot, Lindsey is NOT ABOVE THE LAW, if it were me, the Judge would have no problem holding me accountable for stealing the necklace coupled with all the previous illegal issues. Please Mary it’s people like you that would let drunk dope crazed people like Lindsey off so she could potentially end up hurting someone in her mind altering state of induced drugs/alcohol. Seriously do the Crime do the Time, and straighten up your pitiful act.

WHAT happened to 3 strikes law? her fourth time????

    1. ILLEGALS says:

I don’t think 3 strikes law applies to DUI cases, which was in her past record. This would be her 1st real crime, and maybe later the Palm Springs abuse case at Betty Ford clinic will be her 2nd if the DA in that case finds her balls to file charges.

The ‘other’ 2 shoplifting charges were dropped. You know, the one for the Mink coat in New York & the Rolex watch from Florida. Both charges were dropped.

Does anyone really think this stupid t___ will ever serve time in jail even if she’s conficted?

    1. Mary says:

I think she will. Jail really wouldn’t hurt her right now , but I just don’t believe she took the necklace… I would not convict her with what the video shows.

Oh please, her again. Time to move on and let her deal with her own problems herself.

Thanks a lot for creating headache, I was at a restaurant where a guy from CSULB and one from CSUF were having fun gossiping about her. These men had nothing better to do but suffer from brain rot.

Do we need to keep wasting valuable time for this? No. Don’t think so.

    1. USC Kid says:

Agreed. First off, she needs to accept responsiblity and NOT make it public. Second, why rot our youth’s brains on gossip? Why Why Why? I would rather hear about your average joe rather than her.

Furthermore, I agree that the CSU kids have been chatty for the last day and a half.

      Go USC!
