Friday's Jackpot Grows To $304 Million
LOS ANGELES (CBS) – Nobody had six numbers in tonight's multi-state Mega millions lottery draw, the 14th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
Twenty-six tickets -- including five sold in California -- had five numbers, but didn't have the Mega number. That means this Friday, the jackpot will grow to $304 million.
According to California Lottery officials, the five sold in California are each worth $297,525 while the other 21 are each worth $250,000. California law requires most major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.
The numbers drawn tonight were 1, 14, 35, 50, 53 and the Mega number was 43. The estimated jackpot was $244 million.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website.
