Foothill Residents Asked To Ration Water Use

PASADENA (CBS) — Nearly 2 million Metropolitan Water District (MWD) customers are going to have to get by with less water, at least for the next ten days.

The MWD's Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in La Verne, which normally pumps out 500 million gallons of water a day to various cities, was taken out of service Friday for maintenance and will be shut down for the next 10 days.

Foothill residents are urged to use as little as water as possible during the period. All lawn watering should be suspended.

The areas affected include Altadena, Diamond Bar, La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Pasadena, Rowland Heights, San Dimas and Walnut.
