Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (February 18)
STUDIO CITY (CBS) — It's going to be a busy evening, as the storm is still on track for tonight. A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect for areas above 5,000 feet, where we could see two feet of snow.
Rains will be intense this evening. Right now, forecast models show the heaviest rain will come through Ventura County around 5 p.m.
The action will move into Los Angeles County shortly after and linger into the overnight hours.
A flash flood watch will be in effect until Saturday morning for the burn areas, and rainfall rates could reach 1" an hour.
There is enough instability in the atmosphere for waterspouts and thunderstorms this evening.
This storm actually has two punches to it: the first wave of energy hits us this evening, and then once the low moves overhead, we will have another hit tomorrow evening.
