Santa Ana Teen Suspected In Murder

SANTA ANA (CBS) — An 18-year-old Santa Ana man was behind bars today on suspicion of helping a teenager rob and fatally beat a man in a Santa Ana alley last spring.

Ricardo Valdovinos was arrested Thursday at his home and booked on suspicion of robbery and murder in the May 2 death of 41-year-old Martin Bravo Cervantes, according to the Santa Ana Police.

Javier Ricky Enriquez, who turns 17 in April, was arrested last May and is being prosecuted as an adult.

The teenager pleaded not guilty in December to a murder charge, with a special circumstance allegation that the slaying was committed during a robbery, according to court records.

Valdovinos and Enriquez are accused of mugging Cervantes in an alley, officials said. Like Enriquez, Valdovinos was a juvenile at the time of the early morning attack.

Valdovinos is being held in the Santa Ana jail without bail.
