Suspicious Men Approaching OC Kids

WESTMINSTER (CBS) — Recent incidents involving Westminster girls being approached by suspicious men near schools has area police on alert.

According to the Westminster Police Department, the first of four incidents occurred on the afternoon of Jan. 21. Officials say a 16-year-old girl reported a man took a picture of her outside of Westminster High School.

Authorities say the second confrontation happened when a man followed a 12-year-old girl on Feb. 3. That man is described as his 40s, with graying hair, about 6 feet tall with a pot belly. He was driving a small, black, newer SUV.

The latest incidents happened Monday and involved a suspect with a similar description. Officials say no one has been touched or abducted.

Westminster police are advising that all children do not walk alone and to be aware of their surroundings.
