Maltese Dog Found Shot To Death In Whittier Yard
WHITTIER (CBS) — Police are looking for the heartless killer who shot a 6-year-old Maltese to death as she did her business in Whittier.
Jose Castillo says he discovered his slain dog, named Shakira, after her finding her companion Rocky barking and whimpering for help all morning.
Castillo says Shakira and Rocky were let out in the family's backyard so they could take care of their business. Castillo didn't find bullet casings or other evidence of a shooting, and sheriff's deputies were unable to find where the shot came from.
The family says they intend on asking for criminal charges if Shakira's killer is found because the dog was part of their family.
