Indio Man Pleads Not Guilty To Murdering His Mother

INDIO (CBS)  — A 27-year-old Indio man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a murder charge involving his mother.

Daniel Castro allegedly attacked 51-year-old Ofelia Guzman at their Baltimore Street home about 7 a.m. Monday.

Guzman died Tuesday at 5:42 p.m. at Desert Regional Medical Center, a coroner's investigator said.

Castro, whose bail was set at $1 million, is due back on court on Feb. 14 for a felony settlement conference.
