Third Family Member Charged In 2007 OC Baby Death

ANAHEIM (AP) — A third family member has been charged in the 2007 death of a 23-month-old Orange County boy who suffered repeated head blows.

Prosecutors say Ilene Hurtado will be arraigned on Monday on charges of murder and assault on a child. Hurtado is the aunt of Dartanian Hurtado, who died in August 2007 after he was brought to an Anaheim hospital with serious head injuries.

The boy's mother, Noel Hurtado, and her brother Timothy Hurtado were arrested last month after a three-year investigation into the baby's death.

Noel Hurtado's other child was placed into protective custody after Dartanian's death.
