CS Fullerton Edges San Diego For First Win

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Devon Peltier scored 24 points and Perry Webster hit the go-ahead 3-pointer to give Cal State Fullerton a 62-59 win on Sunday.

Cal State Fullerton (1-3) held the lead for virtually the entire game until the Toreros hit four 3-pointers in a 3-minute stretch to go ahead 58-55 with 3:21 left.

But Webster hit two free throws and sank a 3-point shot with 1:56 remaining to put the Titans ahead for good at 60-58.

San Diego (1-3) had plenty of chances down the stretch. But the Toreros missed three of four free-throw tries in the final 1:39.

They also missed three shots in the final 10 seconds before Peltier grabbed a rebound, was fouled and made both free throws.

Matt Dorr then missed a 3-pointer from about 23 feet at the buzzer that would have tied it.

Devin Ginty led San Diego with 17 points and Dorr added 12.
