Police Arrest Son Of Murdered OC Caregiver
SANTA ANA (AP) — The son of a woman found beaten and stabbed to death in her board-and-care facility has been arrested in Orange County on suspicion of murder.
Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says 25-year-old Marvin Cipullo was arrested Sunday after police received a tip that he was seen in Santa Ana.
Cipullo was arrested after being interviewed by homicide detectives. He was being held without bail, and Bertagna did not know if he had hired an attorney.
Bertagna says Cipullo's mother, 57-year-old licensed caretaker Rebeca Garcia, was found dead by another son Thursday in the facility where she lived with her mother and took care of three elderly patients.
An autopsy revealed stab wounds and blunt force trauma.
Bertagna says the two sons sometimes lived at the facility.
