Police Find Missing Woman's Car In Kauai

HONOLULU (AP) — Kauai police say a car rented by a missing California visitor has been found in a wooded and mountainous area north of Lihue.

The police said in a news release Thursday that Becky Thompson has not been found.

A civilian canine search team has joined a Kauai police and fire department search for Thompson, who was reported missing on Kauai on Sept. 2.

The 45-year-old from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. had come to Hawaii by herself for a weeklong visit.

She was reported missing the day before she was due to fly home.

The police say the car was found off Loop Road in Wailua.
