Brunch is good. It’s breakfast and lunch all rolled into one delicious meal, and it usually starts in the late morning so you can sleep in before you get your meal. Whether you want a little hair of the dog that bit you or you just want a reason to drink before the socially acceptable time of 5pm, these are the best places to get some booze with your brunch.

If you’re going to kick off your day with brunch that includes alcohol, Newport Beach is a pretty good place to do it. The Alley offers bottomless champagne for $10 to go with its brunch entrees. You can also choose mimosas or champagne with hibiscus. If champagne is just not your bag, you can also get a bloody mary. Brunch entrees include eggs Benedict, French toast and corned beef hash, among others. Brunch at The Alley is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

Plums Cafe
369 E. 17th St.
Costa Mesa, CA 92627
(949) 722-7586
www.plumscafe.com

This great brunch spot is tucked in the corner of a shopping center in Costa Mesa, and it would be really easy to miss. However, when you arrive, you’ll find some beverages that go far beyond champagne (although you will find mimosas on the brunch menu). Plums boasts a spicy bloody mary, but in addition to that standard cocktail, you can also find vodka cocktails with cucumber and mint, blood orange juice and fresh berries. If you’re not a fan of vodka, fear not. You can also order a blackberry margarita with your brunch here.
