The monthly event that fuses a Downtown LA party with some heart-pounding pugilism is back at the Belasco Theater with a bit of a twist. Rekindling an age old rivalry between East and West coast, the LAPD will pit their amateur boxers against the NYPD's amateur boxers in an effort to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Headlined, as always, by some of the top prospects in professional boxing, athleticism will be on full display for our Friday night in Los Angeles.

Besides offering one of the largest art collections in the world, the LACMA puts on a summer concert series that is as meticulously curated as their art pieces. The Department of Music Programs, is a seven-time national winner of the ASCAP/Chamber Music America Award for Adventurous Programming and this season looks to be just as dynamic with performances boasting some of the world's best in everything from Latin to jazz music. This Saturday, LA's very own Boogaloo Assassins channel a West Coast delivery of the sounds of Spanish Harlem to celebrate the holiday weekend. A robust, authentic fusion of jazz, soul, R&B, and Afro-Cuban cadence anchor an ensemble that is wildly entertaining. Not that you need another reason to visit LACMA, but if you did, this is it.

See Grease Along With Fireworks

Even if musicals aren't a frequented category when scrolling through Netflix, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that refuses to watch Grease. The Olivia Newton-John, John Travolta tandem works as timeless cinema and what better place to see the big screen duo than the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on a picnic blanket with some great food and drinks? The screening event is a classic piece of Americana and to cap off the festivities, fireworks will light up the night sky. Between the fireworks and the antics of the T-Birds on Fourth of July weekend, it just doesn't get any more all-American.
