Woman Caught On Camera Vandalizing L.A. County Government Buildings Arrested
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A homeless woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly spray-painting graffiti on several county government buildings in downtown Los Angeles, causing about $9,000 in damage.
Officers were patrolling in the area of First Street and Soto Avenue Tuesday when they stopped a woman for having an open alcoholic beverage in public.
"During the open container investigation, the officers immediately recognized the suspect," Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.
Victoria Jayne Bay, 37, was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and was booked at Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, where she was being held on $10,000 bail.
The vandal was caught on video just before 6 p.m. Sunday defacing multiple walls on the Hall of Justice, Hall of Records, Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center and a heating and refrigeration plant.
