Some Inglewood Residents Express Frustration Amid This Week's Flight Pattern Changes At LAX

INGLEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Through Thursday, overnight flights will approach Los Angeles International Airport over land, rather than coming in over the ocean.

The flight path deviation will result in overnight flights coming in over land from 6:30 a.m. to midnight.

The deviation will affect neighborhoods east of LAX in order to clear airspace for "unspecified military activities."

The change has not gone unnoticed as residents usually immune to the frequent flights have been startled by the new schedule.

They say they cannot wait for it to be over.

"It's pretty annoying. It woke me up two or three times," Gerardo Jauregui, a homeowner who lives on Buckthorn Street, said.

"It sounded like there was a plane about to crash down on my house. It was shaking," Jauregui added.

It remains unclear whether the missile test from Saturday was at all connected to the air traffic pattern changes at LAX.
