Sketch Released Of Man Who Tried To Kidnap Girl In Azusa

AZUSA (CBSLA.com) — Azusa police Thursday released a "forensic drawing" of a man who tried to kidnap a 5-year-old girl in Azusa earlier this week.

Kimberly Hernandez was watching her daughter, Alexa, and her friend playing at an apartment complex in the 500 block of East Gladstone Street around 8:30 p.m. Monday when she got momentarily distracted.

Hernandez heard screams and saw a man grab Alexa by the hair and throw her to the ground.

"…and then she got up and he threw her back down, and that's when she got up again, and that's when she came this way, and he was holding her by the shirt," Hernandez said.

The suspect was scared off by Hernandez, as well as a number of neighbors.

The man was described as Hispanic, in his 20s, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 150 pounds with a bald head.

He was wearing blue denim shorts and a short-sleeved white-collared shirt with a blue and red stripe.

Anyone with information on the incident was encouraged to contact Azusa officers at (626) 812-3200.
