$2K Reward Offered For Info About Man Posing As Talent Scout

BAKERSFIELD (CBSLA.com) — The Secret Witness Program is offering a $2,000-reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who allegedly posed as a talent scout for major television networks to meet women.

Anthony Jefferson, 45, is wanted for sexual battery by false pretenses, false impersonation, indecent exposure, and theft.

The Bakersfield Police Department said the suspect reportedly posted jobs for personal assistants, models and actresses on various Internet sites luring women from the Los Angeles area.

Jefferson would then convince the women to travel to restaurants or hotels in Bakersfield to interview and audition for the job they responded to.

In two specific cases, the suspect asked women to perform sexual acts with him as part of an audition.

Jefferson would allegedly also get the victims to use their personal credit cards to pay for hotel room and restaurant fees, as well as purchase other various items.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Secret Witness line at (661)322-4040 or the Bakersfield Police Department at (661)327-7111.
