BAKERSFIELD (CBSLA.com) — A 45-year-old man, who allegedly posed as a talent scout for major television networks to meet women, is wanted for sexual battery.
Police said Anthony Jefferson reportedly lured women from the Los Angeles area by posting jobs for personal assistants, models and actresses on various internet sites.
The suspect would then convince the victims to travel to Bakersfield in order to interview and audition for the job.
Jefferson would meet the women in restaurants or hotels.
In two specific cases, the suspect asked women to perform sexual acts with him as part of an audition.
Jefferson would also get the victims to use their own credit cards to purchase items. He was able to swindle additional money for hotel room fees, as well.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
