José Taque, whose wife is accused of drowning one of their daughters and trying to kill the other one, says she herself is a victim.

"... All the help that he tried to get for his wife but nobody helped him and now he is a victim in this situation as well as his children, his wife. They're all victims because he tried to get help but nobody would help him," Carlos Portillo, a family spokesman, said.

CBS2's Kristine Lazar, reporting from outside Children's Hospital Los Angeles Friday, said family members held up prescription pill bottles and hospital admission slips, trying to show that Taque's wife – 32-year-old Lorna Valle – tried to get help for depression.

On Feb. 15, police say Valle drowned her 1-year-old daughter Lindsay in an infant-size bathtub.

Valle is also accused of attempting to drown her 5-year-old daughter, who is in critical condition at CHLA.

Taque says that over the last three months his wife has had multiple doctor visits in which he says he begged them to do more.

Valle has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.

She is being held on $1.5 million bail.
