Actress Struck, Wrong Obit Runs During Mistake-Filled Oscars; Audio Excerpt
The best picture envelope embarrassment wasn’t the only Oscars flub Sunday night. During the "In Memoriam" segment, a wrong photo was used during the rundown of celebrities and Hollywood talent who have died this past year. Instead of a photo of costume designer Janet Patterson, the image of producer Jan Chapman was mistakenly used. 16-year-old Moana star Auli’i Cravalho was struck in the head by one of the flags moving behind her as she performed the film’s Oscar-nominated song “How Far I’ll Go.”
