LA's Grammy Museum is featuring the third in a series of exhibits dedicated to iconic comedians with comprehensive exhibits on Rodney Dangerfield, Joan Rivers, and now, the timeless voice of reason George Carlin. Curated by George's daughter Kelly, A Place for My Stuff, named after Carlin's ninth comedy record, functions as a time capsule of Carlin's career. Complete with childhood photos, Carlin's infamous arrest record, and set lists from Carlin's appearances on both the Tonight Show and the Ed Sullivan Show, the exhibit is an intimate look at one of comedy's most important figures.

With a blockbuster cast including Gary Oldman, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and a young Wynona Ryder, Francis Ford Coppola's decadent film adaptation of the classic Dracula tale is no doubt a visual masterpiece. Both scary and sexy, there is no better time to soak in the flick then at midnight during Halloween season. The pseudo love story of the undead works for that late night creep both literally and figuratively.

While Matt Damon is quite easy on the eyes, The Martian isn't nearly the hand-on experience as this weekend's JPL Open House will be. Known for their involvmeent with space exploration, the things JPL do on a daily basis will amaze the mind and have you thinking on a planetary level. While the folks in Pasadena expect record crowds, if you are lucky enough to get in, you will see first-hand life-sized replicas of the Mars Science laboratory, plus a glimpse into the JPL machine shop. This workspace is responsible for the cutting-edge robotics used in space exploration. You'll also get to cruise the Microdevices Lab and see what scientists and engineers are cooking to improve space exploration.

Red Bull Straight Rhythm
Pomona Fairplex
1101 W McKinley Ave
Pomona, CA 91768

Described as a real-life Excitebike (yes, the very old 8-bit Nintendo game), leave it to Red Bull to find new ways to push competition via motorsports. Hosting a who's who of moto elite, the premise is simple; A half-mile stretch, a bunch of jumps, and two riders. Plenty of high horsepower antics will be going down in Pomona as the best on dirt bikes will battle head-to-head to see who can get to the finish line first.
