Since we’re quickly approaching the “dog days” of summer, here’s a list of the best events in the Southland to get you up and out and enjoying (or avoiding) the warm summer sun.
Monday July 16th
You know you’ve always wanted to try something like this and let your inner song bird out. Get groovy at the Gypsy Den on Monday night for open mike night. The Gypsy Den is a local hangout for wine, coffee, food and good times. Signups are at 7:30pm and the music starts at 8pm.

Have you ever wanted to try out new restaurants but you were afraid to? dineLA is a two week dining event that introduces diners to a vast array of restaurants in and around Los Angeles. Wednesday July 18th
This year’s Orange County Fair theme is “Home Sweet Home” and will surely prove to be the best one yet. The fair will runs until August 12th and is open Wednesday through Sunday. The OC Fair attract almost 1.5 million visitors each year with its concerts, interesting fair foods, carnival rides, exhibits, shopping, the centennial farms and more.
Thursday July 19th
Spend your gorgeous balmy summer night among fellow music lovers on the Santa Monica Pier. The Pier is hosting its ever-popular 28th annual summer concert series for free. The concerts promote a sense of community and feature a diverse range of music from 7 to 10pm every Thursday until September 6th.
Friday July 20th
The greatest show on Earth is blasting into the Ontario Business Bank Arena for 5 fun filled family days. The new show “Dragons” promises to have spectators at the edge of their seat with circus delight. The show starts at 7:30pm on Friday with an all access pre-show starting one hour before for all ticket holders; try on costumes, get autographs and be a part of the fun.
Saturday July 21st
Fill your belly with the finest in street food at the 3rd annual LA Street Food Fest. Pay the entrance fee and then have access to eating and drinking to your content. Over 75 food trucks will be on site ready to give you samples. VIP access starts at 3pm; General admission access starts at 5pm.
