Everybody knows about the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Seriously, EVERYBODY knows about it. It’s awesome and incredible, and, according to some, the happiest place on earth. But did you know that there are several other spots in Anaheim to have a good time? It’s true! Here are some entertaining things to do for family fun in Anaheim, once you’ve had your fill of mice and churros:

Live concerts and Anaheim Ducks hockey games: the Honda Center indoor arena (formerly known as the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim) is a close-to-Disneyland draw that’s been luring music and sports fans since opening in 1993. Since then, the venue has hosted dozens of games along with Kanye West, Tina Turner, and Wrestlemania, to name a few iconic performances. Parking can be a challenge; Foursquare users recommend arriving with extra time to spare if you don’t have season tickets. Click here for more fun activities in Los Angeles.

1238 South Beach Blvd
Anaheim, CA 92804
Take a really fun, interactive children’s museum and mix it with that clean and friendly carnival that stops in the local park every couple of years, and you’ve got Adventure City. It’s not big, and it’s not fancy, but families, especially the younger kids, will love it. Here’s what the parents will love, it’s very affordable and offers free parking. That’s theme park magic!
7600 E. La Palma
Anaheim, CA 92807
Yorba Regional Park offers over a mile of beautiful walkways along the Santa Ana River. There are barbecues, sports fields and play areas, but the best draw on a warm summer day may be the shade. Find a tree around one of the numerous ponds in the park, put out a blanket and start your life of leisure.
Flightdeck Air Combat Center
1650 S. Sinclair St.
Anaheim, CA 92806
Have you ever wanted to fly a military jet, but not go through years of training and bootcamp (and you don’t know Louis Gossett, Jr.)? Then you are in luck — assuming you are over the age of 11. Flightdeck Air Combat Center is your highway to the danger zone. Here you can pilot a fighter jet from take-offs to landings (if you survive), engage in air-to-air combat and perform incredible aerial maneuvers, all from the safety of an authentic military flight simulator. No word on whether or not you can buzz the tower. Yes, I referenced both Iron Eagle and Top Gun. It’s that awesome!
Battle of the Dance
2232 S. Harbor Blvd.
Anaheim, CA 92802
Do you like dinner and a show? Of course you do. Battle of the Dance has both, and while individual meals may vary, the show is always the same: amazing. Not only will you be wowed by the dancing, but there are acts of acrobatics and balance, both kinds of puppetry (ventriloquist and shadow), and singing. AND YOU’RE EATING! Top that, other places.
Angel Stadium of Anaheim
2000 Gene Autry Way
Anaheim, CA 92806
Home to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, or whatever they are called the week that you read this, Angel Stadium of Anaheim is a beautifully renovated American League ballpark. During the season there are a number of promotions and deals available that cater to families, which make a trip to the ballgame relatively affordable (they get you at the concession stand). It’s a wonderful way to enjoy an Anaheim night with the family. Peanuts and Cracker Jacks not included.
