Consistently rated one of the best eateries in all the land, Beachwood BBQ offers top-notch dining with a host of beers. For the birthday boy or girl, expect an extremely helpful wait staff and talkative bartender, all offering wonderful items and new brews. The prices run from medium to pricey, but you will not leave hungry and are guaranteed a to-go bag as a birthday gift. While parking can be a pain and there aren't a ton of places to sit, the food, drink and merriment are worth the trouble.

Sutra

One of the best aspects of having a birthday in Orange County is that Sutra is almost always guaranteed to have a world-class electronic music act. The bartenders tend to have a little more fun on your special day, offering the occasional free shot or appetizer, but it's the dance floor that will get the most of your attention. With such a great history of live music, all potential 365 birthday nights are destined to be fun. Make sure one of your birthday gifts is a designated driver, as the drinks are strong, and the club doesn't stop until 2 a.m.

There's no better way to spend your birthday than root, root, rooting for the home team. Whether it is an Angels night game or a Lakers-Clippers cross-town battle, the ESPN Zone in downtown Disney is the place to spend a night out on the town. If you've convinced your friends to pay your bill for the night, feel free to order some of the restaurant's more bodacious burgers, which almost explode off of the plate. Televisions and arcade games everywhere make the pre- and post-game time more enjoyable, so bring some quarters and your favorite jersey.

Huntington Beach, CA 92647

This is definitely the place to be when doing any kind of celebrating. The crowd is lively, the wait staff is riotous, and with more than 100 beers and whiskey choices, there is no excuse for not having a good time. This place is also a haven for veterans or country music fans; "Jack and Cokes" have been re-dubbed "Hank and Cokes" and are always $4 a pop. There really isn't anywhere else like Johnny's in Huntington Beach, with a rock 'n' roll vibe your birthday party sorely needs. Just let the bartenders know that it is your birthday and prepare for a mix of cheer, booze and maybe a little public humiliation.

Sgt. Peppers Dueling Pianos
91 S. Pine Ave.
Long Beach, CA 90802
(562) 499-4600
www.pepperspianos.com

Sgt. Peppers is the top destination for a birthday bash if the No. 1 goal to is to make the birthday boy or girl feel like a rock star. The dueling piano set-up is built around suggestions from the audience, but anybody celebrating a birthday will get a special shout-out almost every other song, sometimes in a raunchy, hilarious way. Any good friend with a couple of spare bucks should request something embarrassing for the guest of honor, as the musicians at Sgt. Peppers take extra delight in getting the birthday people on stage for a rather ridiculous rendition of Top 40s hits.
