Best Water Slides In Orange County

With summer fast approaching, you might be asking yourself what is the best way to cool down in Orange County, other than the beach? Water slides, of course! Water slides provide cool water, but also include the added thrills of twisting, winding turns and steep chutes for speedy drops with enormous splashdowns. For the locals, Soak City and Boomer's Buccaneer Cove will be the places to go for access to unlimited water slide fun. If you're vacationing or a local who is planning a "staycation" with close access to area theme parks, there are some cool hotels with amazing on-site waterparks as well.

At Malibu Run at Soak guests are launched from a platform that is over 39 feet high. The water depth at the end of the side is 3 feet and 6 inches. This slide has a height requirement of 48 inches (barefoot). Great Wolf Lodge has an exclusive indoor water park just for their guests. The Howlin' Tornado is the ultimate thrill ride of a slide! A raft built for four takes on tilting twists and turns. Like the name implies, it will have you "howling". The slide drops into a six-story funnel as you defy gravity by sliding up the walls. Eventually, the funnel shoots you into a final tunnel for a watery splashdown.

Buccaneer Cove has a water play area, boosting over a 1,000 feet of water slides, wet tunnels, spray loops, spray cannons, and a huge splash bucket. Yellow Slide is their tallest and longest slide. Start on the top of the 4th level of this fully enclosed slide with 380 feet of twists and turns along a figure 8 flume. You will pick up speed from the straight chute before finally spiraling to an intense splashdown. Their 2016 season lasts from May 28 through September 5, 2016. Admission is $19.99 (non-participating guests who just want to watch the action are only $5).

A mere 5-minute walk away from Disneyland lies Surfside Waterpark at the Marriott Anaheim Hotel. This 20,000 square-foot hotel guest exclusive water park includes slides, pools, fountains, a hot tub, and a 400-gallon Drench Bucket. The Rincon slide is 30-feet high and sports seeming random twists and turns until splashdown. After a day in the park, hotel guests can relax and even grab a view of the nightly Disneyland fireworks display.

The Disneyland Hotel is one of the most memorable hotels to visit and stay at in Orange County. Even if you have left the Park, the Disney theme seamlessly continues onto the property from the restaurants to the rooms to the recreation. Replicas of the original Mark 1 Monorails have descended upon the pool area in the form of water slides. The Red Monorail is approximately 25 feet high and 180 feet long. The thrill of this winding slide will end in a big splashdown.
