The weather is warming up and the end of the school year is upon us. One of the great things about summer is playing outside for hours at a time in the water and under the sprinkler. Pack a towel and some sunscreen and head out for a day of sun, water and fun! Here is a list of some of the best water play spots in the area, ranging from calm, free activities to rambunctious water parks!
Buccaneer Bay- Splash Water Park

Buccaneer Bay located inside the Splash Aquatic Center in La Mirada is owned and operated by the city. This pirate themed water adventure land will keep the kids (and adults) entertained for hours. Buccaneer Bay features a lazy river and three water slides. Buccaneer Bay also has a great children’s play area, zero-depth beach entry and two spray pad areas. Your little adventurers will love splashing around like pirates.
Seaside Lagoon- Redondo Beach

Seaside Lagoon is a saltwater lagoon that is the perfect spot to play in the water. The lagoon is home to a large sand area for sunbathing, a playground area and volleyball courts. There is a large grassy area, benches, snack shop and a Ruby’s take out window. Pack a cooler and head out to Redondo Beach for a day of fun in the sun.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

This classic water park is located adjacent to the Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park and boasts every kind of water play imaginable. From lazy rivers to thrilling water slides, this park has it all. Play in a lagoon, lounge around for some rays, play in waves and a splash and wading area for the little ones. If you are looking for a classic water park, Hurricane Harbor is it.
Sigler Park Splash Pad

The Sigler Park Splash is a water sprinkler park that is perfect for the little ones. There are water buckets, sprinklers galore and splash and a splash area. The best part of this park is that it is absolutely free of charge and a great place to spend a few hours frolicking with the little ones.
Marina Del Rey’s Mother’s Beach

If you want an enjoyable afternoon at the beach and have little ones this is the spot for you. Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey has clean and accessible bathrooms, a swimming area, a play area for the kids and picnic areas for a nice lunch. Pack your beach bag and some sandwiches and enjoy a nice day at the beach.

The Cove Water Park is Southern California’s newest water park. This Caribbean themed water park has the newest water slides, lagoon and baby beach. You will also find a lazy river and Captain’s Bay an activity pool that is perfect for water play.
Stoner Park Splash Park

Stoner Park is home to one of the best splash areas in Los Angeles. Located in West LA, this water play area is the perfect place to cool down. There is a main pool with a slide and a smaller splash and sprinkler area for the younger kids. It’s a great place to spend a hot summer afternoon. A great plus about Stoner Park is that the kids are free.
