Best Upcoming Open Mic Comedy Shows In Los Angeles

Laughter is good for the soul, as we have all heard countless times. When you laugh it can cure depression, make a horrible day great, and help us to relax. Los Angeles is full of comedy venues, whether you enjoy performing or listening to clean comedy or adult rated comedy, the city has something for everyone to enjoy. Check out some of the top places that host open mic nights.

Located just 25 minutes from Downtown Los Angeles, right in between L.A. and Orange County, the Improv is open weekly and features independent acts from rising comedians to big headliners such as Chris Tucker, Shane, and a handful of others. Admission is also very reasonable if you want to get out the house, but save a little money. The Impov holds their open mic nights on Mondays for those who want to get up on stage.

For the past 19 years, Da' Poetry Lounge has been filling seats and has been named the largest and longest running weekly venue in the country. Every Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. instead of going to happy hour at a local restaurant you can kill two birds in one stone by having your after-work drink and laughing your butt off to local comedians. Admission is just $5 on open mic nights and $10 on slam nights. The event is hosted by Shihan with music by Brutha Gimel of Klassic Produkshuns.

Some people probably wonder about the name Fais Do-Do. Well, Fais Do-Do is a gumbo (mixture) of eclectic music and diverse people who have come together to build a stronger community by providing exposure to new cultures, sounds and philosophies. The cafe showcases a variety of sounds from world music, jazz and blues, R&B, funk, soul, rock and alternative rocks from musicians around the Los Angeles area. On Friday nights, the venue has open mic nights for those who have that creative bug in them and want to share their talents. Fais Do-Do is located in the heart of L.A.'s Mid-City district.
