Each spring and summer, the family-friendly city of Rancho Cucamonga boasts outdoor movies under the stars. With three locations to choose from, visitors and residents can choose their favorite spot to enjoy the films, games, raffles, and prizes from RCParks, although my personal favorite is the town square at Victoria Gardens: enjoy the shops and restaurants pre-show! This summer series runs July 8 through Aug. 9 and features "Frankenweenie," "Big Miracle," "Madagascar 3," "We Bought a Zoo," and "Rango." All movies begin at dusk.

The Van Buren Drive-In, originally built on a Riverside ranch in 1964 has recently undergone massive renovations including technology updates and even a return to its original, orange field theme. Still a great bargain, head to this drive-in for your favorite new releases, just $7 for adults and $1 for kids ages 5 to 9. This popular spot is a local favorite year-round so arrive early.
